Cinematography
Freelance director of photography and camera operator, based in Winston-Salem and shooting across the Southeast.
I regularly shoot in Greensboro, High Point, Charlotte, Raleigh and Asheville, as well as around North Carolina and beyond. Brand films, product videos, interviews, corporate and commercial work, events, and location-based production. Whether it's a small one-day shoot or part of a larger production, I can handle camera, lighting and the practical details of getting good footage on the day. I have my own camera, lighting, audio and grip, and can build out a package when a production calls for it. Full gear list below.
Roles
Director of photography
Day or half dayFor shoots where the visual side needs someone to own it. I handle the camera, lighting and overall look, working from your concept, schedule and creative direction.
Camera operator
Day or half dayYou have the creative direction and setup. I bring the camera, operate to the plan and focus on getting the coverage you need.
Second camera / 1st AC
Day rateTwo-camera interviews, events, commercial shoots or whatever the production needs. I can step in as an additional camera operator or 1st AC and work within an existing crew and setup.
Aerial / Drone
FAA Part 107Licensed for commercial drone work. Available as an add-on to a shoot day when aerial coverage makes sense.
Day and half-day rates on request. Standard mileage outside the Triad.
Gear
My core kit, with more available as needed.
Camera
A Sony, Canon and Blackmagic setup with both primes and zooms, suited to interviews, products, events and more controlled commercial setups. I can keep things compact when a shoot needs to move, or build out the camera package when it calls for more.
Lighting
A mix of daylight and compact fixtures for interviews, products, interiors and location work. Enough to build a proper lighting setup without turning every shoot into a rental order.
Grip
An 8×8 butterfly kit, C-stands and the grip needed to shape, cut and control light on location.
Audio
Interview-ready audio with both boom and wireless options, recorded separately from the camera.
Movement
Tripods, gimbal and the smaller support gear that comes along with a typical shoot day.
If your project has specific needs that aren't covered by my gear, I have a broad network of local contacts and can usually find what's needed.
